Regulating Cash Distribution in Australia: Conclusions Paper

The Council of Financial Regulators (CFR) and Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) have released a Conclusions Paper on a regulatory framework for cash distribution.

This follows a consultation process over 2025. In July 2025, the CFR and ACCC released a consultation paper on a potential regulatory framework for cash distribution in Australia: Regulating Cash Distribution - Consultation Paper. The CFR and ACCC received 47 submissions, around 1,200 emails from members of the public, and met with a wide range of stakeholders bilaterally and as part of industry roundtables.
